Brief History

Rosemary cottage (and the cottage next door, Riverview) started life in the 18th century as single storey thatched cottages (the majority of the photos on the walls in the cottage are from this time period). It was purchased in 1966 by the son of the owners of Riverview and the thatch was removed and the rear extension was built. In the 1970s our neighbour Margaret “Peg” purchased the cottage. She was a keen boater and wanted to both live and moor her boat outside the city centre. The photo in the dining room is from 1960 and shows Margaret on her boat near Jesus Green in the centre of Cambridge. Peg lived here until 2017 when she very sadly passed away (two months short of her 101st birthday!). We purchased the cottage and extensively renovated the cottage.

Owners of Rosemary Cottage around 1950 or earlier. They lived in London and used the cottage as their weekend retreat.
